Little Elephant
Once upon a time, there lived a group of lovely animals in the forest, including kittens, rabbits, dogs, bears, and an elephant that no one liked because of its thick legs, big ears and long nose.
One day, the elephant saw the kittens, dogs and rabbits playing football. He wanted to join them, so he walked over and said, “Can I play with you?” But no one paid any attention to him. He had to walk away sadly.
Another time, the elephant saw everyone playing hide-and-seek. He ran over and said, “Can I play with you?” The kittens and dogs wanted to fool him, so they pretended to play with him and hid while he looked for them. “One, two, three… one hundred.” The elephant opened his eyes and went to look for them. It took him two hours, but he still couldn’t find them. The elephant was about to go home when he came to the river and saw everyone fishing. He also heard them saying, “That elephant is really stupid! I bet he’s still looking for us, hahaha…”
Suddenly, it started pouring rain and the river rose quickly, flooding the small bridge. The kittens and the others were stunned and didn’t know how to get back home. At this moment, the elephant stepped forward, crouched down and let the kittens, rabbits, dogs and bears get on his back. Then he stood up and waded across the raging water to the other side.
Everyone was very grateful to the elephant. They realized that although the elephant looked ugly, he was kind-hearted. When making friends, one should not look at appearances but at the heart. From then on, the elephant and everyone became good friends and lived happily together.
